Suzan El Kalliny - over 250,000 students and over 3,000 scientific staff. The university has 15 faculties and two institutes. The Faculty of Arts has over 40,000 students. He has 16 cathedrals and 389 employed researchers, from professors to assistants. One of them is the Department of Archeology, led by prof. Moustafa Zayed. It has a section of Egyptology, classical archeology, Greek-Roman archeology and Islamic archeology. Over 800 students are studying there, 85 researchers are employed. The cathedral conducts a number of tests and excavations throughout Egypt, including in Luxor, Aswan, Giza and Aleksandria.
Prof. Suzan El Kalliny claims that the Ain Shams University is the oldest scientific institution in the world. OUN science center was created , which in the Old Egip language means the eye of the sun . In 1860, the university was named after Ibrachim Pasha , son of Prince Mohammed Pash, who financed her development. The current name: Ain Shams , the university adopted in 1950, referring to Old Egyptian traditions, because Ain Shams in Arab also means the eye of the sun .
