The engine is the invention of prof. dr inż. Włodzimierz Chomczyk, submitted to the patent in September 2009. It is a wind -powered engine and capable of obtaining power from several dozen watts to several hundred kilowatts. This engine contains a turbine, controller and binder of the stream of the flowing wind and other elements. The blades are made of sailing fabric. There is one or multi -segment. He works in a vertical axis. It does not produce excessive noise and is high -wing. It is several times cheaper than the currently used huge windmills and incomparably more efficient.
Currently, a number of windmills are used from historical solutions, used to drive mills or pumps with a fairly low power and performance ratio per unit of volume, up to modern, with greater mechanical efficiency. However, both historical and contemporary solutions, however, do not allow you to fully use potential wind energy. In addition, modern windmills occupy a large space, excessively make noise, which disturb the environment and are dangerous for birds.
Comparing the design of windmills currently used to drive power -making devices with a wind engine structure according to the invention and design of prof. Chomczyk, after its implementation, the following benefits will be obtained:
- A significant reduction in construction costs compared to other structures currently used in Poland
- The use of fully potential energy and wind pressure, by the mechanisms used to work regardless of the direction of its changes and increasing the pressure of the flowing wind, which in effect allows to obtain a total increase in engine power to about 800%, compared to current devices
- It is more environmentally friendly, thanks to the protection of birds flying next to it and much quieter work by about 20-30 dB compared to other, designed structures
- Protection of the engine against hurricane failures by using an automatic limitation of excessive wind pressure.
The designed wind engine is characterized by innovations and completely new solutions that increase its performance. These include A mechanism that increases wind pressure, automatic, automatic windbreaker reduction (protection against hurricane) and a mechanism setting the engine according to the wind direction.
The designed wind engine has a relatively simple design, and the implementation of the invention will allow mass and cheap production of such engines, contributing to a significant increase in obtaining and using energy from renewable sources. It is a completely new, innovative construction, unheard of in Europe or the world, significantly exceeding existing solutions both performance compared to volume, as well as economical material solutions and labor, compared to the obtained engine power. There are no patterns and similar solutions in national, European and world literature.
Chomczyk's wind engine can be used, among others For the drive of electricity -producing devices on both mast mast located on land in convenient places and on residential houses, as well as on floating units, especially sailing yachts, as well as to drive various types of pumps, compressors, or other receivers requiring the drive - torque - wherever there are permanent, available energy sources.
Cost calculation
The cost of producing one windmill, which is currently produced in Poland, is estimated at around PLN 100,000. Therefore, to produce 1000 "traditional" windmills, the cost of production is about PLN 100,000,000. Of course, we are talking about windmills with production capacity comparable to the wind engine when it comes to electricity.
The cost of producing one Chomczyk wind engine is about PLN 18,000. The production of 1000 wind engines would be around PLN 18,000,000. So these are huge savings on a national scale, not counting other advantages of such an engine.
